Shelly Glandon
Principal/Project Manager
Shelly’s project management skills are second to none. She provides the foundation, plan, skill set, and follow through needed to keep client projects running smoothly. Delivering projects on time is the only way she likes to roll. She’s also an expert at developing marketing copy and working with diverse teams to create polished and integrated campaigns.
She is a graduate of the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s in Sociology and an MBA. She serves on the Tucson Ambassador Committee for the Arizona Technology Council and is a past Chair of the Southern Arizona Tech + Business Expo.
Exploring different foods and wines ranks high on activities she enjoys, and to burn off all those calories Shelly enjoys hiking in the mountains that surround Tucson and Southern Arizona. She’s also the one you can call to find out about new food venues in Tucson (thank you Tucson Foodie!). Organizations Shelly is passionate about are the Arizona Trail Association, Doctors Without Borders, Women’s Foundation of Southern Arizona – Empowering Women and Girls, Rogue Theater.
Katina Johnson
Marketing Specialist
Katina brings a great combination of marketing talents to Blue Canoe – she’s a strategic, creative, logical thinker with a keen eye for navigating the Customer Journey. She brings a deep background in marketing communications and graphic design for companies in aerospace, high-tech manufacturing, textiles, and community action. Katina excels at delivering successful events, brand and campaign management, copywriting, creative design, and CRM results.
Katina volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for children for Pima County, Communications Chair for the Empire Ravens Football Boosters. In her spare time, she enjoys time with her “flock” – family, pets and chickens. She is a graduate of Washington College in Maryland.
Alec Reed
Marketing Specialist
Alec specializes in B2B social media marketing and uses his expertise and creativity to enhance the digital presence of our clients. In addition to working in the social media space, Alec has a knack for short and long-form copywriting, executing large-scale company events and overseeing publication releases in the manufacturing sector. Alec is a graduate of Valencia College in Florida and is pursuing a higher degree in Marketing.
In his free time, you’ll find Alec lacing up his hiking boots and hitting the trails, cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, hitting up the beach with friends and family or planning his next vacation abroad.
Nancy Roth
Advisor/Writer
Nancy Roth is an experienced marketing professional who brings marketing know-how and writing talent to our clients. Her area of focus is translating technical and complex product information into clear and concise marketing content for products and technology used in mining, construction, meteorology, energy, and life sciences. She is the past chair of the Tucson Ambassador Committee of the Arizona Technology Council, past chair of the Tucson Section of Society for Mining, Metallurgy, & Exploration, and past president the Tucson Chapter of the American Marketing Association. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and an MBA.
Nancy is active in all things outdoors and spends time exploring Southern Arizona and beyond on foot, hoof, and wheel.

What gets us out of bed every morning is the opportunity to use creative, yet practical marketing, to help solve business problems and achieve goals. It’s rewarding to see our clients succeed and it gives us a sense of accomplishment and purpose to be part of their success. We are curious people, and we love the discovery process when we work with clients learning about new and interesting technologies and the science behind how stuff works.
How do we help keep our clients focused on their goals?
We follow the motto of “plan your work and work your plan”. We help companies get organized and focused on their objectives using an established process to put in place a plan of action and project management tools to systematically execute the plan. We believe this is the best way to achieve goals.
What makes us qualified?
We sharpened our marketing skills working in corporate marketing and communications for companies in science and technology, landscape/green industry and mining technology. We’ve worked on countless types of projects — from product launches to client retention programs and from digital communications to trade shows. Through this experience we understand the challenges these teams face. Marketing departments need to wear many hats to support product management, business development, sales, channel management and corporate communications – and sometimes there’s just not enough in-house time and talent to get it all the work done.
